ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & BUDGET PREPARATION MEETING

The Ezulwini Municipality successfully hosted an Annual General and Budget preparatory meeting held at the Happy Valley hotel on September 27, 2022. The stakeholders were inclusive of residents, service providers, developers, and the business community at large. The Ezulwini Mayor, Bongile Mbingo presented unqualified/ clean audited financial statements for 2021/22. The audit was carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers(PwC) in the accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).

The Ezulwini Town Council’s assets have increased from a total of E122 million to E133 million which shows an E11 million increase compared to the previous financial year 2020/21.  The mayor also alluded to an 8% increase in the municipality s income, as economic activities were also increasing which were slowed down by the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

The Acting Town Clerk, Phutfuma Shongwe presented a comprehensive report on the Municipality s annual performance and highlighted activities undertaken during the period under review. Amakhosi Nxumalo, a resident commended the council for the work they did, on behalf of the residents. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session where both Ezulwini Management and the Council responded to the Resident’s queries and concerns/
