BLOOD DONATION EVENT FOR RESIDENTS

The Social Services Department of Ezulwini Municipality together with the Ministry of Health Blood Bank hosted a successful blood donation event on May 18th 2023, at The Gables Shopping Centre.  Residents and shoppers participated in the great cause. 

Blood is needed every day and has many life-saving benefits.There is no substitute for blood, and donors provide the only supply of life-saving blood for those in need.  Residents will have more opportunities to donate blood as the blood donation events for residents will be held every four months.The next one will take place in September 2023. 

Your health is of the utmost importance, and the Blood Bank team will do a Blood Pressure (BP), and  Haemoglobin (Hb) check on all potential donors to determine if it will be safe for you to donate.These are important things to consider ahead of the next blood donation event:

• Be 16 years and above.
• Weigh 50 kg and above.
• Not be on any medication.
• Lead a sexually healthy lifestyle.
• Drink lots of water on the day.
• Have had something to eat or a snack.
